How a $0.99 App is Considered Expensive

I find it very funny how several BlackBerry users can’t justify that WhatsApp for the iPhone costs $0.99. It’s not free, they said, and it’s pointless that we need to buy that app to be able to communicate with other smartphone users, unlike the BlackBerry Messenger that’s there by default.

Well, several BlackBerry users, this is what I can’t justify: The idea that you have spent millions on a smartphone, a car, a digital SLR, and the rest of things that you probably don’t need, but you still have second thoughts on spending a buck for an app. And oh, by the way, the last time I checked, your BIS subscription is not free either. Or is that something that your mom paid for you each month?
